    The magic of the VastDeep...

    Every elf character on Two Moons is automatically given two specific magics. These are "Sending" and "Magic Feeling". All elves have the ability to communicate telepathically (Sending) and it is a particularly important skill for seaelves, who rely on it as their primary mode of communication -- particularly when underwater or otherwise battling the noise of the surf. All elves also have the ability to sense the use of other magic around them, be it powerful shaping magics or otherwise. Some, like Suntop in the ElfQuest comics, are simply better at it than others. Wolfriders are also automatically accorded a third magic, that of Wolf Bonding. Seaelves, however, do not have access to that magic, though they may, in fact, develop Animal Bonding (a more general form of the same thing for which a character must puposely apply to the chiefs and wizards to receive). All other magic beyond those first two must are only awarded through special application and on the merits of roleplay.

    These are by no means all of the magics available on the game. A full list can be found by typing "+magic/list" when you're logged in. But, these are all the magics, outside of Sending and Magic Feeling, that are most likely to be possessed by seaelves.

    The application process is relatively straightforward and should not be at all difficult. It should, however, be thorough. The first thing you'll need to do is answer the questions on the Magic Application and email it to the chiefs. After that, they will forward it, along with their comments, to the Wizards, who will evaluate it and determine whether or not to award you with the ability you seek.

    It is not unusual, simply because of the number of requests the Wizards must wade through, for it to take a little while for an application to be approved. They will contact both you and the chiefs at the same time, usually via +mail, as soon as they have made their decision, so there's no point in hounding either the chiefs or the Wizards if you do not hear back as quickly as you might have hoped.

    Magic is a privilege, not a right. And gaining magic is an excercize in patience for both elf and player. Once you've sent your application in, there's nothing left you can do. So sit back, relax, enjoy your RP, and good luck!
